As a first-generation college student, the pressure of succeeding in college is already challenging enough –– but funding it is undoubtedly the hardest part. The Viner family has relieved my family of immense, immeasurable pressure; they made it possible for me to pursue my educational endeavors and build my future without sacrificing necessities in order to fund it. Before becoming a recipient of the Viner scholarship, I wasn’t sure I could afford college altogether. Their generosity allows me to focus solely on what’s most important over the next few years: my education. I wholeheartedly accredit the Viner family for saving my future. It is my hope that one day I will be able to give back to my community in the same way that they so selflessly have. Thank you to the two I am forever indebted to –– Mr. and Mrs. Viner!

I can say with absolute certainty that I would not be where I am right now without this scholarship. All the accomplishments I have achieved while in college would have been a hundred times more difficult without the help and support I have received from the Viner community. Instead of worrying over my finances, I am able to focus on my academics and do well in my classes. I have been able to explore my choices and realized that my passions lie in marine science and wildlife conservation. I have also been able to get involved in research that caters to my interests and gives me valuable experience. Through the mentorship program, I have been able to recognize my abilities and plan for my future. I have gained a whole new perspective through my relationship with my mentor.

My name is Julie Ferreira and I am a second year Viner scholar. Being blessed by this amazing scholarship has opened various doors for my educational journey that would never have been possible before. Not only has the Viner Scholarship aid my education financially, they have supported my emotionally and mentally through the mentor/mentee program. Entering the then scary world of college, I was put as ease by my patient and caring mentor who constantly provided insight and support. The Viner Scholarship picked up the financial burden college was for me and allowed me, as it continues to do today, to focus solely on doing my best in my educational career rather than being overwhelmed with working to afford to attend college. I am forever grateful for the Viner Scholarship.

I have a great appreciation for the Viner’s scholarship. I am very thankful that I was a recipient of the scholarship because it has allowed me to focus on my education at Florida State University and to leave behind the stress of not having enough money to pay for tuition. Thanks to the Viner’s scholarship, I am attending the university that I had wished for without worrying if I could afford it. In addition, because I have been able to focus on my academics instead of my finances I have excelled in classes and have been able to intake the best college experience. Overall, I am thankful for what the Viner’s do and thankful that I was able to benefit from such generosity

Growing up, my dream was so go to college. My only worry was how was the price of college. Viner was an application that I did at a whim. I had no idea that I would be selected. Because of this organization, I’m able to attend my dream school, University of Central Florida. There I’m apart of a club on campus who’s mission is to help children with pediatric cancer. I’ve been able to go on hospital visits and many more. None of this would’ve been possible without Viner. I’m so grateful for Eda and Cliff Viner.
